September is almost upon us, which means that the summer is drawing to a close, schools are back in session, and life in Minneapolis is returning to its usual state. It also means that Labor Day weekend is close. In today’s blog, we will talk about things to do in Minneapolis this Labor Day as well as how our Japanese restaurant can help you celebrate. Be sure to top off your summer at Moto-i.
Check out the State Fair
Even though the Minnesota State Fair is held in St. Paul, it can still be a fun way for people in Minneapolis to spend their long weekend. The fair concludes on Labor Day this year, so you can enjoy the fair over the entire weekend. This event is great for the whole family and it is only a short drive away from downtown Minneapolis.
The Minnesota state fair is a fantastic time for the whole state to come together. Whether you go for the rides, the live music, the shows, or to see the animals, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Be sure to stop by Moto-i on your way back to Minneapolis after enjoying time at the fair. Our restaurant is only a 25-minute drive from the fairgrounds and we have delicious Japanese cuisine for your family to enjoy. The State Fair and Moto-i are a fantastic pairing for your Labor Day weekend.
Go on a Boat Tour
If you have guests visiting you in Minneapolis over Labor Day weekend, then a boat tour might be one of the best ways to spend your time. Boat tours are an enjoyable way to spend the day, and the first weekend in September might be one of the last weekends of the year with temperatures that are high enough to make tours pleasurable. Thanks to the many lakes in Minnesota, you can choose to either take a historic boat tour down the Mississippi or a casual tour around another body of water in Minneapolis.
Even if you don’t have guests in town for Labor Day, a boat tour can still be an excellent way to enjoy the long weekend. Many people living in Minneapolis often grow accustomed to the bodies of water all around them, and then they forget to take advantage of them! If boat tours seem too slow paced for you, you can even try your hand at water sports on a local lake.
Enjoy a Movie
If these two ideas don’t get you excited for Labor Day weekend, you can always plan on spending time in Minneapolis to enjoy a movie. There are quite a few theaters in downtown Minneapolis, so it is relatively easy to catch a movie while enjoying a night on the town. Between the restaurants, breweries, and bars, you are sure to find some fun this Labor Day weekend in Minneapolis.
You can even try sake made at Moto-i or fill up on some ramen prior to walking to a movie. If you catch a late-night movie, then you can finish off your night and talk over the movie at Moto-i. We are open until 2:00 am, so be sure to savor Japanese cuisine during your night on the town.
Eat at Moto-i
We might be biased, but we think that eating at Moto-i is one of the best ways for you to appreciate this Labor Day weekend. Our Japanese restaurant has authentic cuisine for you to try and we even have vegetarian and vegan options on our menu. Whether you love ramen, want to try okonomiyaki for the first time, or enjoy a Saturday brunch, Moto-i has you covered.
Regardless of what you decide to do this Labor Day weekend, be sure to take some time for yourself and relax with friends and family. Moto-i is here to help you celebrate with tasty Japanese food.
