December is nearly half over, and that means the New Year isn’t far away. If you always have trouble making plans or finding something to do on New Year’s Eve (NYE), Moto-i is here to help. With NYE falling on a Saturday this year, we’ll be open until 2:00 am, serving sake, beer, and fantastic Japanese cuisine. Even if it’s just you and your significant other, we will do our best to make your celebration especially memorable.

Planning an Impromptu Party

You might be someone who likes hopping from place to place on New Year’s Eve. If you’re hoping to plan an impromptu party (meaning whomever can make it will make it, and will meet you when they can during the night), you might have a place you want to go to dinner, a few bars you want to pop into, and somebody’s nearby apartment where you can ring in 2017. We have spaces that can accommodate your group, and if you’re only planning on a few for dinner, we can make sure there’s a table (or tables) where you can sit and eat comfortably. If you only plan to belly up to the bar before you move on to the next party, we have a great variety of beer, wine, and sake from which to choose. What better time than New Year’s Eve to try traditional sake for the first time?

Planning a Special Date Night

If you’re a hopeless romantic who enjoys spending NYE with your special someone, our menu has something for every taste. We can seat you at a table where you can have quiet conversation or simply gaze into each other’s eyes. It might be your first date with this person or your hundredth, but we will do what we can to create an ambiance that’s conducive to getting to know each other or spending quality time together. Perhaps you met on New Year’s Eve and celebrate it as your “anniversary” or you’re hoping to pop the big question before midnight strikes! Whatever the case may be, our restaurant can be the perfect spot for your special night.

Plenty to Do in Minneapolis

Once you’re finished with dinner or have had your favorite sake cocktail at our bar, there’s plenty to do in Minneapolis on NYE. There are parties, concerts, and more happening all around the city, with several of them within just a few blocks of our location on Lyndale Avenue. You can walk (if you want to brave the cold), take a taxi, or call an Uber to get your destination. Above all, no matter what you do, make sure you take the proper steps to get home safe!
If you’re looking for a spot where you can spend part or all of New Year’s Eve 2016, call or visit Moto-i today. You can also make a reservation through our OpenTable account, and we’ll make sure everything is ready when you arrive on December 31st. Ring in 2017 with some amazing Japanese cuisine and sake that’s made on site!
